Tikkie is for everyone

All you need is the app and a Dutch bank account. Your friends can pay you without installing the app. Good news: Tikkie also works with mobile numbers from many different European countries.

Send a payment request in the app

Simply enter how much you want to be paid and what for, then share the payment link on WhatsApp or have someone scan the QR code. Tikkies are valid for 2 weeks, but you’ll usually have your money back well before then!

Keep track of group expenses

Who’s it for?

The app’s available to anyone with a bank account in the Netherlands. Tikkie may have been created by ABN AMRO, but all Dutch banking customers are welcome to use it.

Payments using Tikkie are subject to conditions .

Fees

Downloading and using Tikkie is free. You need to be online to use the app. If you use mobile internet, your phone provider may charge an additional fee.

What do I need?

  • An iPhone (iOS 10.0 or higher) or an Android device (OS 5.0 or higher). The app is not currently available for Windows Phone.
  • A Dutch bank account.
  • A Dutch, Belgian or German mobile phone number.
Getting started with Tikkie

How to download the Tikkie app onto your smartphone:

  • On your smartphone, go to the App Store or the Google Play Store and search ‘Tikkie’.
    Choose ‘download’ to install the app onto your smartphone.
  • When you sign up for the first time, the app will ask for your phone number and the bank account you want to use.
Removing Tikkie

If you don’t want to use Tikkie any more, just remove the app from your smartphone. Just let us know if you want us to erase your personal data.

How payments with Tikkie work

When your friend has paid, the money is always first transferred to an ABN AMRO clearing account: either NL13 ABNA 0506 4173 44 or NL61 ABNA 0811 0865 93. ABN AMRO then pays you. Both of you can see name and account number in the payment description, and when you receive money you also see the subject.
