Enable push notifications

From the ABN AMRO app

  • Instant alerts for payments or insufficient balance
  • Quick message in case of an unusual debit
  • You decide what push notifications to enable

What are the benefits?

Easy to use

We will send an alert whenever there are changes in your accounts, or in your child’s account. This way you won’t have to open the app as often.

Extra secure

You know right away whenever a (large) amount has been debited. If it’s not right, you can take action immediately.

Always up to date

No more surprises when paying with your card, for example. You get an alert as soon as the account balance drops below a certain amount.

You decide what push notifications to enable

It is up to you to choose when and from which amount you want to receive a notification. Choose the account for which you want to receive notifications, which may also be your child’s account. This way you prevent a notification overload.

How to enable push notifications in the app

Enable or disable

  1. Open the app and go to Profile (bottom-right corner) > Set push notifications. Tap the slider to turn on push notifications.
  2. If a message appears on your screen, tap Allow.
  3. To personalise push notifications, tap Payments and select an account. Set your preferences and tap Save.

Once you’ve done that, check to see if the app has been given permission to send push notifications. To do so, exit the ABN AMRO app and go to your device settings.

  1. Go to Settings > Notifications.
  2. Tap the ABN AMRO app.
  3. You will see a slider here. If it is set to on, you don’t need to do anything. If not, tap the slider to allow notifications.

These steps may be slightly different on your device. Check your device’s manual for help.
