  1. 1 July 2024

    From this moment, all entrepreneurs must be connected to the infrastructure of the new iDEAL.

  2. 1 September 2024

    Have you received permission for postponement? Then this is the deadline by which your implementation must be completed. The current iDEAL infrastructure will be discontinued.

 

What will change for you

You must connect to the new iDEAL infrastructure – the iDEAL hub. The iDEAL hub makes it easier for consumers and businesses to find each other during the ordering and payment process. Realising the connection may require considerable effort on your part. 

Depending on your situation there are various options for switching to the new iDEAL or look at our alternative Tikkie Business.

So what’s new?

 

Faster payment process

Your customer can select a preferred bank account in their iDEAL profile. When paying, the customer is immediately redirected to their own banking environment to approve the transaction. This makes the payment process more efficient still.

Order and pay in 1 step

Your customer has the option of sharing the delivery/address details from their iDEAL profile with you along with the payment.

Yes, you have to make the integration. The technology behind the current IDEAL system is being completely replaced. 

With the new iDEAL we are building an infrastructure that better meets the current needs of consumers. 

You must be connected to the new infrastructure as soon as possible. The current infrastructure will eventually no longer work.

If you have not switched on time, you will no longer be able to use iDEAL as an online payment option in your online shop. So, be sure to start the transition process in time so that you and your customers can continue to use iDEAL.

Unfortunately, postponing the integration is not an option.  No one will be able to use the old infrastructure in the end.

If you have an 'iDEAL via PSP' contract, contact your payment service provider for support with the implementation. 

If you have an 'iDEAL Zelfbouw' (iDEAL Integrated) contract, contact the person/company that manages/has implemented this for you.

Yes, tests can be carried out for iDEAL 2.0. You can use two pre-configured test Merchants for this. More information about how to perform these tests can be found in the Merchant Portal. You can find the relevant details in the test guide on this portal.
