As a customer of ABN AMRO MeesPierson, your child(ren) is/are eligible for the Next service. Under the guidance of a personal coach, they start preparing themselves for having wealth.

What is Next?

Your child(ren) will have to deal with wealth in the future. They will have to make (independent) financial decisions. We understand that you would like those decisions to be made as wisely as possible. A good private bank can help you with this. Next is an initiative of ABN AMRO MeesPierson and prepares your child(ren) for managing wealth. To prepare for important financial issues, your child(ren) will be provided with all the necessary resources, including:

  • A personal coach who acts as your point of contact and supports and advises your child(ren) on important issues.
  • Assistance with daily banking needs through the personal coach and Private Assistance Team of specialists who help your child(ren) with questions concerning investing, housing, etc.
  • Participation in the Generation Next Academy, where your child(ren) can participate in e-learning, workshops and events.

No costs are associated with Next.

What services can my child(ren) expect under Next?

Next helps your child(ren) at important financial times in their lives. Our Next coaches maintain contact a lot through Teams and WhatsApp. In other words, by means appropriate to the target group. Within this context, the following issues may need consideration:

  • Is investing suitable for your child(ren)? We will show you what the possibilities are.
  • What will the life of your child(ren) look like during and after their studies? Travel, (temporary) work abroad? What are the financial consequences?
  • How does/do your child(ren) approach the purchase of their first home? Will your child(ren) take a loan from you or from a bank?
  • Is a gift appropriate? What are your expectations and how will your child(ren) handle these?
  • Do you expect your child(ren) to work in the family business later? Or is/are your child(ren) starting their own business?
What are the conditions of Next?

The following conditions apply to Next:

  • Your child is between 18 and 30 years old.
  • You bank with ABN AMRO MeesPierson.
  • Next also includes a free ABN AMRO Student Package. In addition, you and your child(ren) can use all the services you expect from a Private Bank.
  • You pay no additional costs for Next.
  • Next is a service provided by ABN AMRO MeesPierson. Is/are your child(ren) already participating in Next, and has something changed in their situation? Then we will look for a suitable service together.

FAQ about Next

Under Next, every young adult child of our private banking customers has their own contact person: the Next coach. This coach is their fixed point of contact for questions concerning their daily banking needs, such as: questions about investing, starting to invest, owning your own home or buying your first home. The communication is mainly undertaken digitally, which means our Next coaches are easy to contact and very accessible. In addition to personal contact with the coach, Next customers are also invited to attend events. The team organises events twice every quarter on interesting topics such as entrepreneurship, investing and sustainability. Only Next customers are invited to these events, which provide plenty of opportunities for networking.

A Next coach is a fixed point of contact for the Next customer (aged 18-30). The coach maintains contact through digital channels such as Teams and WhatsApp so that they are easily accessible. The coach helps with questions concerning banking needs, investing, housing, entrepreneurship and current financial topics. The coaches see their customers at the many events they organise.

The services for young adult children under Next are free of charge for ABN AMRO MeesPierson customers.

The Generation Next Academy is a bi-annual programme that customers can register to participate in. There are an average of 2 meetings per month during this programme. The meetings are interactive sessions that delve deeper into having wealth, how to deal with it and the influence of wealth on relationships. The topics sustainable investing, entrepreneurship, philanthropy, taxation and housing are also discussed. It is a great programme with plenty of room for networking. The events are mainly held in the evenings. You can participate in these, but this is not mandatory when you bank under Next.
