More information and conditions

For whom is asset management?
  • You want to invest for the longer term.
  • You do not want to have to worry about your investments.
  • You want to have your assets actively invested by bank experts.
  • You are willing to take risks and know that you can lose part of the investment.
Risks

You should only invest spare money, not including your buffer for unforeseen expenses. Investing can be interesting, but involves risks. You can lose (a part of) your deposit. It is good to be aware of this. Invest only in investment products that you understand.

With Asset Management, you do not make investment choices yourself. However, it is important that you know the risks of investing. We have listed the most common risks for you.

When you start with Asset Management, you determine your risk profile yourself, with advice from your Asset Manager. You leave the buying and selling to experts, who act within your risk profile.

It is also good to know that:

  • The investment risks in your portfolio are monitored on a daily basis by a specialised department. The daily operational processes required to manage your portfolio are of the highest standards, they meet European standards (ISEA 3402 – standard).
  • The investments in your portfolio are legally separated from ABN AMRO. They are in your name and are therefore your property. This means that your investments are secured in the event of the possible bankruptcy of ABN AMRO.
Costs

The costs vary per mandate. For the costs, please visit the relevant page for the Sustainable Funds Mandate, Sustainable Investing Mandate, Multi Manager Mandate, Comfort Income Mandate, Classic Mandate and/or Special Mandate.

You can find an overview of the costs of our investment products here.

Risk profile

ABN AMRO MeesPierson uses six risk profiles for Asset Management: from low risk (very defensive) to very high risk (very offensive). Each risk profile includes a recommended distribution of the invested capital between shares, bonds, alternative investments and liquidities.

When you have determined your risk profile together with your asset manager, we can compile an appropriate investment portfolio. You can immediately see what this can mean for the returns on your investments.

Insight into the invested capital

Various sources of information inform you well about your investment portfolio. In this way we inform you about the composition of your portfolio, the returns and our investment policy. In addition, your asset manager will review your portfolio with you once a year.

  • Asset Report
The asset report provides quarterly insight into the composition of your portfolio. You will also see the transactions in that quarter, the distribution across the various asset classes and the return.
  • Asset Report Online
Insight into your investment portfolio through the secure Internet Banking environment, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. That is Asset Report Online.
  • Tax Statement
You will receive a tax statement for your tax return every year.
  • Digital Newsletter
You will receive the digital newsletter monthly with an explanation of the investment choices.
  • Investment Information
Depending on market developments, you will receive updates on important developments.
Sustainability

Socially responsible investing is an important principle of ABN AMRO. Certain investments (producers of, for example, tobacco, cluster bombs and landmines) are completely excluded for all mandates. In ‘tobacco’, there is a difference between the production of tobacco and its sale. It is not possible to invest in tobacco producers at ABN AMRO. However, we do not exclude companies that, for example, transport cigarettes or supermarkets that sell tobacco.

Do you want to invest sustainably within Asset Management? Then consider the options under the Sustainable Funds Mandate and the Sustainable Investing Mandate.

Depositing and withdrawing

Asset management allows you to manage your assets for the long term. Depositing or withdrawing is possible free of charge. Please do take into account the lower limit (minimum investment) of your mandate. Deposits and withdrawals can affect the achievement of your investment objectives. Get advice from your Asset Manager on this.

Stopping

You can always stop Asset Management free of charge by means of a written letter to us.
