  • Essential Information Document (Eid)
  • Legal Entity Identifier (LEI)
  • Markets in Financial Instruments Directive II (MiFID II)
  • Exchange Traded Fund (ETF)

Essential Information Document (Eid)

The Essential Information Document (Eid) provides information regarding investing in 'packaged' investment products (PRIIPs). Examples of PRIIPs investment products are:

  • Investment funds
  • Investment objects
  • Insurance contracts with an investment component
  • Structured products
  • Structured deposits
  • Derivatives

Het Eid provides a better insight into the risks, the costs, and the expected return. It allows you to compare different PRIIPs.

European Market Infrastructure Regulation (EMIR)

European Market Infrastructure Regulation (EMIR) is the European legislation that applies directly to all companies in the European Union that have positions and transactions in exchange traded derivatives (options):

  • can engage
  • have entered into
  • as beneficiary of these transactions

Applying for your Legal Entity Identifier (LEI)

The Legal Entity Identifier (LEI) is a unique code used to identify a business undertaking or legal entity. If you already have a LEI, no action is required. If you do not have a LEI as of 3 January 2018, you will no longer be able to place orders.

You can read more about the LEI and how to apply for a LEI by clicking on the button below.

Markets in Financial Instruments Directive II

Important information: on 3 January 2018, the European directive 'Markets in Financial Instruments Directive II' (MiFID II) was implemented. MiFID II broadly focuses on:

  • increasing the protection of investors
  • more transparency
  • products and services that are better suited to your personal situation.

Exchange Traded Fund

Do you want to keep the costs of your investment as low as possible? Include an Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) in your portfolio. An ETF follows investments that are part of a certain index. Because an ETF passively follows the index, it will always yield lower than the index. However, the costs are lower than for an active investment product.

Hedge Funds

Hedge funds is a collective term for a wide range of innovative investment strategies. These funds aim for a positive return, regardless of the price trend on the stock exchanges. This includes markets where prices may fall. Moreover, there is more chance of a return because hedge funds use other investment instruments and trading techniques than traditional equity and investment funds. This means that hedge funds are also riskier.

Turbos

Do you expect a considerable drop or rise on the stock market? Do you want to get a maximum return? A Turbo allows you to respond to strong fluctuations in the price of investments, e.g. a share, index, bond, currency, or commodity. This an exciting, but also risky form of investing. Therefore, Turbos are only suitable for experienced investors.
