Are your assets managed by us? Then you will meet with us regularly about your investments. In these meetings, you jointly discuss your personal situation and your investment objectives. You also discuss the importance of sustainability to you for your investments. This results among other things in your sustainability profile.
These are the 4 different sustainability profiles at ABN AMRO:
You may choose to take into account adverse effects on sustainability factors in your investment strategy. Sustainability factors include ecological, social and employment issues, respect for human rights, and the fight against corruption and bribery. This can be done in three ways.
With your investments, you can make a positive contribution by investing in companies that contribute to reaching an environmental or social goal. These goals are often related to the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations.
The European Commission has prepared a manual with various criteria for economic activities so that everyone has the same understanding and the same definition of what is ecologically sustainable. This manual is called: EU Taxonomy. If an activity meets the criteria of the EU Taxonomy, this can be characterised as “ecologically sustainable”. The EU Taxonomy explains per sector which economic activities are ecologically sustainable and which are not. To determine whether an investment product is a taxonomic investment, ABN AMRO depends on information reported by listed companies. It is expected that these companies will start with the report regarding taxonomy in the coming years. As a result, it is not yet possible to offer investments that comply with this.
We like to offer you investments that fit your sustainability preferences. Once your sustainability profile has been determined, the investment advisor looks at which investment form best suits your risk profile and your sustainability profile. You should only invest capital that you have over and above your buffer for unforeseen expenses. Investing can be interesting, but it is not without risk. You may lose (a part of) your investment. It is good to be aware of this.
