A sustainable home is not only good for the environment, it may also save on your energy consumption. Of course, you also want to know how your isolation, charging station, solar panels and heat pump are insured. This is explained here.

Isolation

Isolation materials ensure that heat stays in your home longer in the winter. Or that your home stays cool in the summer. This can be done in various ways, such as, for example, through roof, wall, floor and cavity wall isolation. These sustainability improvements are fully insured under your home insurance. Damage incurred during the installation of isolation is not insured.

Do you have your own charging station that is attached to your home or is anchored in the yard of your home? Then this charging station is insured under ABN AMRO home insurance.

Your electric car is just as well insured as other cars with a car insurance policy from ABN AMRO.

Solar panels

With solar panels, you generate your own energy, which is immediately reflected in your energy costs. Solar panels require little maintenance; most dirt is automatically washed away by the rain. Are your solar panels attached to your home or are they located in the yard of your home? Then they are insured under ABN AMRO home insurance. They must always be securely fastened or anchored.

If your solar panels are damaged due to an event for which you are insured, we will also reimburse the energy costs you incur due to no energy being generated. Up to €2,000 per event.

A heat pump uses electricity to extract heat from the air, soil or groundwater. A heat pump works best when you have underfloor heating in your home.

Do you have a heat pump that is attached to your home or in the yard of your home? Then it is insured under ABN AMRO home insurance. The heat pump must always be securely fastened or anchored.

Solar panel battery

In the coming years, electricity feed-in will probably become less and less attractive. It is likely that you will no longer be able to net off in 2031: self-generated electricity will no longer be allowed to be offset against your purchased electricity. With a solar panel battery in your home, you store your own power. You will then have to buy less or no electricity from your energy provider.

If you have a solar panel battery attached to or on your home or in the grounds of your home, it is insured under ABN AMRO home insurance. A solar panel battery must always be securely fastened or anchored.

Do you have a rented home or apartment?

Do you have a rented home or an owner-occupied apartment? The charging stations, solar panels, solar panel batteries or heat pumps you have installed will be insured under your home contents insurance with ABN AMRO.
