Costs

This is what you pay us

You pay transaction costs when buying and selling your shares. You do not pay transaction costs when buying and selling investment funds and ETFs.

Overview of costs you pay us

From €100,000 the service costs are 0.12%, from €400,000 the service costs are 0.06%

  • Investment funds: no transaction costs
  • Domestic shares: €5 + 0.05% on the value of the order, per order
  • Foreign shares: €5 + 0.05% on the value of the order, per order
  • ETFs: no transaction costs

This is what you pay to other parties

If you have investment funds in your portfolio, you must take into account the costs that these funds incur. These are external costs and administration costs, for example. We call these the running costs. These are already included in the price of the investment fund. The Essential Investor Information for each fund states the costs.

Reduction of rate for foreign shares

From 20 July 2023, the rate for foreign shares has been adjusted for Self-directed Investing Basic. We are reducing the transaction costs for foreign share transactions for Germany, United Kingdom, Ireland, Italy, Spain and United States from €10 + 0.10% to €5 + 0.05%. With this, we equalise the transaction costs for domestic and foreign share transactions for the Self-directed Investing Basic selection.

You can find the rate card here .

You pay costs for investing. These lower your return. You also run risks with investing. Therefore, consider whether investing is (still) appropriate for you. Or whether saving might be a better solution for you.

Sample calculation

To give you a good idea of the annual costs for investing, ABN AMRO uses sample profiles. These sample profiles show you the expected annual costs if you invested the same or approximately the same as the sample profile. We show you different sample profiles, and each sample profile has its own characteristics.

Choose the sample profile that best fits your investment portfolio and investment behaviour. The annual costs in the sample profile will then be comparable to the costs that you would incur yourself. This allows you to see the expected annual costs for investing before you start.

Influence of costs on return

This calculation example shows the influence of all costs on the return on your investment. We use a fixed return of 4% per year for this. Your actual return may therefore be different. This fixed return allows you to make a proper comparison between our costs and those of other providers of investment services.

This is not a prediction, but a sample calculation. If the return is higher or lower than in this example, the costs will generally also be higher or lower.
