  • A conflict with another that causes damage, injury or financial loss
  • A conflict with a company about a purchased product or service and that fails to meet its commitments
  • A conflict with the authorities about a building or environmental permit
  • A conflict about buying/selling, renting or building/remodelling your own home

  • A conflict in which you have called in another party for legal assistance without ARAG's consent
  • An event that was foreseeable before the start of your legal expenses insurance
  • An event that happened before the start or after the termination of your insurance

Other things we take care of when you have been the victim of fraud

Did a company you were scammed by damage your property instead of repairing something? With the Consumer and Housing module of the legal expenses insurance, we make the guilty party pay for this as well. In the best-case scenario, this means that you will not only get your money back, but that the damage will also be repaired free of charge.

It may happen that you have a conflict that is not covered by your chosen modules. Or your conflict arose before the effective date of the insurance. You can still contact ARAG for advice by telephone during office hours. ARAG will be pleased to assist you. The ARAG lawyer or a good legal service provider within ARAG's network will then ensure that you get the right help at a reduced rate.

The lawyers at ARAG will also be happy to help you in the event of an impending conflict. If, for example, you have a question about your legal position in a specific case, you can call the lawyers at ARAG for advice by telephone. Call the ARAG Service Centre on +31 (0)33 - 434 24 70. This number is available on working days between 8.30 am and 5.30 pm. Outside office hours, ARAG can only be reached for urgent emergencies and you will be connected to the ARAG emergency center.

This is possible if it is necessary to conduct legal or administrative proceedings. We recommend that you first discuss with ARAG whether you can or may engage a lawyer yourself. If, after consulting with ARAG, you choose your own lawyer or legal counsel in legal or administrative proceedings, and is it not a legal requirement that you have a lawyer represent you, all costs are covered up to €6,000 per event. Do you make use of a lawyer engaged by ARAG? And is it mandatory to engage a lawyer to represent you in your case? Then all costs are covered up to €50,000.
