Promotion terms and conditions

Open a current account and earn up to €125

 

If you open a current account (Basic Payment Package) for yourself using the code SAVINGS during the promotion period (31 March 2025 to 16 May 2025), you'll receive a gift worth up to €125. You earn this €125 in 3 steps:

  1. Open an account, activate the app and your debit card, then request the Switching Service: you'll receive the first €75
  2. Open a Direct Savings account: you'll receive the next €25
  3. Save €300 or more within the first 3 months of opening your current account: you'll receive €25

Please note: you can only receive gifts 2 and 3 if the Switching Service is active. Make sure that you activate the Switching Service by 30 June 2025 at the latest.

Here’s how the payments work

You'll receive the money in your account on the day you pay your monthly bank fees. These fees will be debited from your account. Sometimes, it might take an extra month due to processing time.

We check whether you've completed one or more of the 3 steps on the last working day of the month. You'll see your gift on your next statement, minus your regular monthly fee. We'll run the check for paying out the final €25 (step 3) 4 months after you open your Direct Savings account.

You'll recognise the payment from our payment reference on your statement:

  • Gift 1 - Switching Service is active
  • Gift 2 - You’ve opened a savings account
  • Gift 3 - You’ve saved €300

Who this promotion is for

You can take part in this promotion if you:

  • are aged 18 or older;
  • have an official Dutch home address;
  • have a Dutch ID, a residence permit or an international passport;
  • aren't yet an ABN AMRO client;
  • open a current account for yourself in the ABN AMRO app (the promotion only applies to the Basic Payment Package);
  • remain a client of ABN AMRO for the entire term of the Switching Service (13 months), but preferably forever of course.

Other important information

  • You can only take advantage of this promotion once, i.e. you can only open one new current account in your name.
  • ABN AMRO Bank N.V. reserves the right to amend the promotion terms and conditions or to cancel or extend the term of the promotion at any time, in which case an updated, amended version of the promotion terms and conditions will be posted on abnamro.nl.
  • The promotion is an initiative of ABN AMRO Bank N.V. with registered offices in Amsterdam.
  • This promotion is governed by Dutch law. Any disputes arising from this promotion will be heard in the first instance by the competent court in Amsterdam.

Exclusions

  • If you enter incorrect personal data, you'll be excluded from the promotion.
  • ABN AMRO reserves the right to exclude participants from the promotion at any time if it is of the opinion that the participant has violated one or more conditions of participation, has provided incorrect or incomplete information, or has acted in any other legally impermissible manner.

  • Questions and complaints regarding this promotion can be sent to ABN AMRO, Gustav Mahlerlaan 10, 1082 PP Amsterdam. ABN AMRO will contact you to answer your question or deal with your complaint. ABN AMRO makes every effort to deal with complaints effectively.
  • These promotion terms and conditions and the promotion concerned are governed by Dutch law. Any disputes arising from these promotion terms and conditions and/or from the promotion will be heard in the first instance by the competent court in Amsterdam.

This promotion applies to the Basic Payment Package (a bank account for yourself).

Download the ABN AMRO app and follow the on-screen instructions. Enter SAVINGS in the promotion code field. Once you've opened the account and activated your app and debit card, you'll be switched to us via our free Switching Service. You'll receive the €75 as soon as the Switching Service is active.

If you open a Direct Savings account, you'll receive another €25 if the Switching Service is active. And if you save €300 or more within three months of opening your current account, we'll give you the final €25.

Please note: to receive gifts 2 and 3, you must have completed the switch. Activate the Switching Service by 30 June 2025 at the latest to be eligible for the maximum welcome gift of €125.

We'll deduct your regular monthly fee from the gift you receive. We check whether you've completed one or more of the 3 steps on the last working day of the month. You'll see your gift on your next statement, minus your regular monthly fee. We'll run the check for paying out the final €25 (step 3) 4 months after you open your current account.

If you forgot to enter the promotion code during the request process, you won't be eligible for the welcome gift of up to €125.

If you were declined for the Switching Service, you're unfortunately not eligible for the €125 welcome gift. 

If you successfully requested the Switching Service, but it only becomes active after 30 June 2025, you unfortunately won't qualify for the €125 welcome gift.
