FAQ on the use of My Dealingroom

Here you will find the questions customers often ask employees of the My Dealingroom service desk.
There are no additional costs for using My Dealingroom. You do pay the fixed costs, service costs and any other costs associated with Self-directed Investing Plus.
You log in to ABN AMRO Internet Banking with your e.dentifier. You do not need separate login details for My Dealingroom. Go to your Self-directed Investing Plus investment account through your account overview. You can find a link to My Dealingroom in your portfolio overview.
  • Due to the small screen format, My Dealingroom is not supported on a smartphone.
  • The new version of My Dealingroom is available on a tablet or iPad. The options are then slightly more limited than on your PC, laptop or Mac:
    • Standard overview pages are available, but you cannot design your own workspace.
    • Personal lists and portfolios are available, but you cannot create or change personal lists.
  • In addition, with Self-directed Investing Plus you can of course also place orders through Internet Banking and the ABN AMRO app.
  • The easiest way is to open up your investment account under the Personal menu in the top right corner. By clicking on your investment account, you can also access the contents of your investment account.
  • If you have multiple investment accounts, you can set up your standard investment account under Settings. You can select your investment account through the main menu in the top left corner under ‘investment accounts’ by clicking on it. This opens the screen with the contents of your investment account. In addition, the Start menu also contains a market overview page that includes your investment account.
  • For security reasons, if you are not active, My Dealingroom logs out automatically after 4 hours. If you want to keep your session running, you will have to activate the screen at least once every four hours.
  • A secure session is started in the tab of your browser for My Dealingroom. Please avoid closing the tab because your session will then end. This already happens, for example, when you click on the ‘back’ button of the browser or go from the My Dealingroom tab to one of your favourites. Tip: You can use the F11 function key to enlarge your screen, which will hide the upper bar of the browser. This will prevent you from accidentally closing the tab or clicking the ‘back’ button.
  • It is also possible that your internet connection is not stable. If you lose the connection for a while, security is compromised and My Dealingroom closes. Setting your laptop to sleep mode can also cause your session to close.
  • Accelerated ordering is terminated after one hour without use. The session also ends when you close the tab or window used, or when you navigate to another website within the same tab, for example by clicking on a favourites link or the ‘back’ button in your browser bar.
  • Use the functionality of your browser to zoom out. For this purpose, most browsers contain the ‘control –’ and ‘control +’ key combinations (press the Ctrl button and the ‘–’ or ‘+’ button on your keyboard simultaneously). Depending on your screen and video card, a 60-80% setting is the best. Furthermore, your workspace has a built-in zoom functionality. This built-in zoom functionality sometimes displays a blurred image in Google Chrome. If this is the case, it is better to use the zoom functionality (‘control –’ and ‘control +’) of the browser itself. Most browsers offer the option to suppress the upper and lower bar of the browser. This is usually applied through the F11 function key on your keyboard.
  • Our predefined market overview pages are fixed pages to help you get started. Once you have become better acquainted with the functionality of My Dealingroom, you can place and store a number of screens on your workspaces. These screens and workspaces are then completely set up according to your own information needs.
Yes, that is possible. Use the menu button in the top left corner of the list or portfolio and select ‘Define Columns’. You can add, delete or change the order of columns here. However, the personal column layout is not retained when the list is closed and reopened. If you want to keep the column layout, it is advisable to save the entire workspace manually so that you can return to this status. You can also quickly switch between different standard column formats through the tabs at the top of the list or portfolio.
No, this is not possible. You can sort by various calculated values, such as price change. These options will be further expanded in future releases.
No. At present, you cannot enter a (fictitious) purchase price and number of items in your personal lists. This functionality is expected at a later date.
Yes. My Dealingroom continuously stores all changes made within the workspaces. In addition, it is possible to manually save workspaces so that you can undo the last changes and easily return to the desired screen layout. The saved status can be retrieved through the workspace numbers in the top bar or through X-Ray. You can also save or empty the workspace here.
X-Ray provides an overview of all open screens in a workspace. X-Ray allows you to close screens, move them to the foreground, or link them for Broadcast functionality. You can also save, reload or empty the workspace here.
Broadcast is a convenient functionality that you can use when designing a personal workspace. Broadcast allows you to link screens to lists or portfolios and to other screens. By selecting an instrument in a linked list, or by dragging it to one of the linked screens, the data is displayed in all linked screens. For a demonstration see the video ‘Workspaces – Part 2’ under “What do you want to know more about?” above.
  • The Key Figures screen opens by default when you click on an investment product. As a result, you may have many open screens at some point in time and even receive a notification of too many open screens. You can return to a limited number of screens by reloading the previously saved workspace.
  • A more attractive alternative is to activate your list for broadcast. The functionality of a click on an investment product consequently changes from opening a Key Figures screen to broadcasting that investment product to linked screens. However, if you have not connected another screen by broadcast, this will only suppress the Key Figures screen.
You will find these in the ‘Key Figures’ screen under the ‘Related’ tab. Here you can filter by provider, long/short, leverage and distance to stop loss based on the selected instrument.
You can find the fundamental opinions in the ‘Key Figures’ screen under the screen menu in the top left corner. The selection menu in the navigation bar at the top of the screen, under ‘Useful Links’, provides access to the complete overview of available opinions.
The consensus of other banks and trading houses can be found in the ‘Key Figures’ screen under the ‘Company Information’ tab, sub-tab ‘Consensus’.
The dividend data can be found in the ‘Key Figures’ screen under the ‘Prices & Markets’ tab, sub-tab ‘Historical Data’.
There is no separate text size setting. You can enlarge or reduce the complete display of My Dealingroom with the zoom icon in the navigation bar, possibly in combination with the zoom function of your browser (press the Ctrl key simultaneously with the ‘–’ or ‘+’ key). You can switch between full screen and normal display by pressing the F11 function key.
  • For tax reasons, ABN AMRO has administered German shares on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange and not on the German electronic stock exchange. As a result, the order buttons for German shares are linked to the Frankfurt listings. To help you, we show in the index overviews both the Frankfurt index (L/E-DAX TR EUR), in order to quickly find the order button for German shares, and the XETRA (DAX), for the market mood of the stock exchange with the largest trading volume.
  • For the placement and execution of your order, our broker ensures that it is carried out in the best marketplace. In practice, this will often be the XETRA DAX. Do you want to see your executed order in Times and Sales? Then look at the trading activities for both stock exchange locations.
  • To help you familiarise yourself with My Dealingroom, we have prepared a comprehensive manual
  • You can also find this manual and explanation cards in My Dealingroom: in the left-hand menu under the heading ‘Support’. The explanation cards briefly outline what functionality is available and how you can achieve it. We recommend that you do not print the manual immediately. This is because you can click on the subject within the table of contents and then directly jump to the correct page.
Please contact the My Dealingroom service desk for this. You can contact our customer service . Usual call charges apply.
