Call Check

Check who’s calling you

Unfortunately, phone scams are rather common. Scammers may call you directly, posing as a bank employee. They may claim to be calling from our fraud desk, for example. If you aren’t sure whether you’re really speaking to a member of ABN AMRO staff, ask for a Call Check. This way, you can be sure about who’s calling you and prevent fraud.

Call Check in 3 steps

Ask for a Call Check

If you ask for a Call Check, the employee will send you a message in the ABN AMRO app or on Internet Banking

Here's how it works

If you have a bad feeling about a call, you can ask for a Call Check at any point during the conversation. If the person on the line really is an ABN AMRO advisor, they will send you a message in the ABN AMRO app or on Internet Banking to verify the call. Once you see this message, you can be sure that you are not dealing with a scammer and can safely continue the conversation.

Who can ask for a Call Check?

FAQs about the Call Check

Unfortunately, a lot of people are still falling victim to bank help desk fraud. In the first half of 2024, the number of reports of bank help desk fraud received by the Fraud Help Desk was higher than last year. Scammers are able to pressurise people into transferring money into a so-called secure account. ABN AMRO clients are also being affected and we want to put a stop to this. That’s why we’ve introduced the Call Check to make it easier for our clients to recognise a scam and prevent fraud.
