Cardless cash

Cardless cash is a way of withdrawing money at a Geldmaat machine. You scan the QR code on the Geldmaat machine using the ABN AMRO app on your mobile phone. You do not need your plastic debit card for this.

You can use cardless cash if you are a private client, you have an ABN AMRO current account, you have installed the ABN AMRO app and you are aged 16 years or older. You can use cardless cash if you have an Android or iOS phone.

Before using cardless cash, check to make sure you satisfy the following requirements:

• You are aged 16 or over 
• You have an ABN AMRO personal current account
• You have installed the latest version of the ABN AMRO app
• You have an Android device with at least version 7
• You have an iOS device with at least version 11
• Your phone’s region setting is ‘the Netherlands’
• You have registered a correct mobile telephone number with ABN AMRO
• You have an internet connection

You do not need to activate anything. The function appears automatically as soon as you scan the QR code on the ATM using the ABN AMRO app on your phone.

There are no additional costs attached to using cardless cash. Cardless cash is included in the Basic Payment Package. ABN AMRO offers this extra service so that you can withdraw money using your mobile phone.

Cash remains legal tender, so you can continue to withdraw cash at any time. Moreover, ABN AMRO believes that cash plays an important role in society. That is why ABN AMRO is constantly looking for new ways for clients to withdraw money easily and safely. Clients can continue to withdraw cash using their debit card. There are also new options that do not require a debit card.
