Cancelling your loan

Here’s how to do it

You can cancel your loan at any time at no extra charge. However, you do have to pay off your loan in full before we can terminate it. Read on to find out how to do this.

How to repay in full

On Internet Banking

  1. Log in to Internet Banking and click the ‘Self service’ tab. 
  2. Click your loan at the bottom of the page.  
  3. Select ‘Extra or full repayment’. 
  4. Select ‘Full repayment’. 
  5. You can transfer the amount of the outstanding loan balance using iDEAL.  

By transfer

If you don’t have Internet Banking access:  

  1. Transfer the amount to repay to: NL18ABNA0839581602 in the name of ABN AMRO Kredieten B.V.  
  2. Please state your contract number.  
  3. The repayment will be processed within 3 working days.

Borrowing more

If you want to borrow more, you can apply for a new loan. You will then use your new loan to repay your existing loan.

Frequently asked questions about full repayment

A repayment made on Internet Banking or in the ABN AMRO app will immediately be debited from your current account. On the next working day, your loan overview page will show an outstanding balance of €0.  

If you are making the repayment by transfer, it will take three working days for the repayment to be processed. 

As soon as your loan has been repaid in full, it will automatically be cancelled and removed from the Dutch Credit Registration Office’s register.  

As soon as you have repaid your loan in full, it will automatically be cancelled and removed from the Dutch Credit Registration Office’s register. The Dutch Credit Registration Office (BKR) will retain your details for five years. Over this five-year period, other banks or official bodies will be able to see in your credit history that you had this loan.
