Insurance cover for business trips and conferences abroad

If you’re visiting a business partner or attending a trade fair or conference, choose our additional Business Trip cover option. This will cover you for damage incurred during a business trip, if you fall down the stairs at a conference, for example, or if your laptop is stolen at a trade fair. International internships are included in the basic cover.

What is covered and what is not?

You are insured for things such as:

  • Attending a seminar, conference or business trip abroad
  • Business trips in the Netherlands if accommodation has been booked
  • Return journey if a close relative become seriously ill or dies
  • Return journey if your agent become seriously ill or dies
  • Transport costs in the event of an accident or death

You are not insured for things such as:

  • Damage resulting from physical work carried out in the course of your duties
  • Travelling to countries against government advice
  • Minor damage, to luggage for example

Business travel outside Europe

If you’re going on a business trip outside the area covered by Europe, don’t forget to enable your Worldwide cover. Worldwide cover means you’re well insured on business trips in the Netherlands, Europe and the rest of the world

When do I need additional cover for business trips?

You need our additional Business Trip cover option if you travel abroad for your job, to visit a business partner, for example, or attend a trade fair or conference. You’ll be covered for incidents such as dropping your laptop or having an accident at a conference. 

Physical work in the course of your duties is not covered by the additional Business trip cover.

I’m going abroad to study or do an internship. Do I need the additional Business Trip cover option?

Studying or doing an internship abroad are covered by your basic travel insurance. You do not need to take out our additional Business Trip cover for this. If you are going to study outside Europe, don’t forget to enable your Worldwide cover.

How can I change the additional cover options for my travel insurance

If you have annual travel insurance, you can change your additional cover options at any time. This means that you never pay too much and that you are properly insured for every type of trip.
