Winter Sports

Hit the slopes with good insurance

Going on a winter sports holiday is something to look forward to! Our additional Winter Sports cover options means that your winter sports equipment is properly insured. And if you have an accident on the slopes and have to go to hospital, you’re properly insured too. Everything you pay for in advance, such as your equipment, lessons and the ski pass, will be reimbursed if you’re no longer able to ski.

What is covered and what is not?

You are insured for things such as:

  • Accidents or damage while skiing, snowboarding etc.
  • Theft of, or damage to your equipment
  • All prior expenses, such as your equipment, lessons and the ski pass, will be reimbursed if the insured person is no longer able to ski.

You are not insured for things such as:

  • Damage caused intentionally
  • Damage caused while under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medication
  • Accidents when skiing off-piste
  • Non-essential medical costs

Also useful: medical costs

Medical treatment can be very expensive if you have an accident on the slopes while skiing. Healthcare insurance companies will only reimburse the cost of the treatment or medication up to the equivalent cost of the same treatment in the Netherlands if you need medical assistance on holiday. You have to pay the rest yourself. If you take out our Medical Costs cover option, ABN AMRO Insurance will make up the shortfall for all essential medical costs not covered by your healthcare insurer.
